Talking about Consent in Participatory Performance
Tuesday 18 April 2017, 7-9pm
This group discussion about consent structures in larp and participatory performance is open to anyone dealing with questions of consent in their work. The discussion will be drawing on information shared within ‘Game to Grow’, a recent webisode about consent based play in larp, moderated my Sarah Lynne Bowman, with guests Azzurra Crispino, Johanna Koljonen, John Stavropoulos, Lizzie Stark, and Maury Brown. It’s recommended that you watch this before attending.More info HERE. The event was conceived of in connection to the development of Hamish MacPherson’s larp Alien Phenomenology, and his wider research around physical, non-verbal care; a body of work concerned with different repertoires and configurations of care in a range of artistic works.
Hamish MacPherson is a London-based artist who uses ideas and methods from choreography and dance to think about politics; a kind of embedded philosophical enquiry. Hamish makes workshops, games, performances, writings, images and other elements in artistic, academic and community contexts. Current projects include THIS MOVEMENT, looking at how we use our bodies to make politics and Hard Care looking at care as an aesthetic, choreographic and political practice.
